Philadelphia Flyers goalie Ilya Bryzgalov does not have a serious injury.
Bryzgalov has suffered a chip fracture in his right foot. He will not be able to compete in tonight’s game in Toronto.
He is officially listed as day-to-day. He reportedly suffered the injury during warmups before the Flyers loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Monday.
He occured the injury when he took an errant shot from Jakub Voracek on his exposed foot.
“Right now, Ilya wasn’t going to play on Thursday anyway.” said Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren. “We’re going to just leave him back and continue to get him treatment. We don’t think this is a serious injury. We’re hoping that he’ll be back on the ice practicing with the idea that he can play on the weekend.”
“We had it X-rayed after warmups with his skate on and nothing showed,” said Holmgren. “We X-rayed it again after the game, it didn’t show. The MRI revealed this small little chip in there. So we’re dealing with it.”
