The Boston Red Sox are interested in New York Mets outfielder Jason Bay.
He would prefer to sign with a West Coast team. However, he would only be willing to sign with two East Coast teams, which is the Boston Red Sox and the Cleveland Indians.
The Indians have considered signing Bay, but no contract has been offered yet. The Indians is managed by Terry Francona, who Bay played for during the 2008 and 2009 season with the Boston Red Sox.
He is looking for familiarity and an opportunity to play regularly. Boston is able to offer him a starting position in the outfield.
The New York Mets released him last week.
