The Arizona Cardinals will interview former Eagles head coach Andy Reid today.

Andy Reid

Reid is reportedly the Cardinals top choice, and ESPN’s Adam Shefter has went as far to say he is “95% certain” Reid will be the next Cardinals head coach. Both sides have mutual interest, but no deal is imminent at the moment.

He could officially be hired by the team today, but it is likely to drag into the weekend.

After his firing from the Eagles on Monday, Reid has told potential his coaching staff that an announcement should come quickly. He appears ready to get back into coaching and not take any time off.

Reid was the Eagles head coach for 14-years. In those 14-years, he had a 130-93-1 record.

Reid’s wife Tammy is reportedly from the Phoenix area. The Cardinals play their home games in Glendale, Arizona, which is about 20 minutes from Phoenix.

The Cardinals last had a winning record in 2009. That season, the Cardinals went 10-6 and made the playoffs.

They beat the Green Bay Packers in the Wild Card round, before losing to the New Orleans Saints in the Divisional Round.

Since that time, the Cardinals are 18-30. They were 8-8 in 2011.

The most wins the Cardinals have had in a season was 11. They have recorded 11 wins in 1925, 1948, and 1975.
