Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson has signed an endorsement deal with Nike. According to ESPN’s Darren Rovell, it could be the biggest football shoe deal.

Financial terms of the agreement haven’t been released. Wilson reportedly had to choose from Nike or Under Armour.

Under Armour — who recently signed an endorsement deal with The Rock aka Dwayne Johnson — has signed many of the top young athletes. They also have Cam Newton as one of their clients.

When Wilson’s Nike contract expired, he wore Under Armour all season. But today after signing his new Nike contract, he showed up at Pro Bowl practice with Nike gear on in Hawai’i.

Wilson is in his fourth season in the NFL. This season was the first time in the past three seasons that the Seahawks did not play in the Super Bowl.

The Seahawks were eliminated by Newton and the Carolina Panthers two weeks ago. They lost 31-24 in the NFC Divisional Round at Bank of America Stadium.

In 2013, Wilson guided the Seahawks to their first Super Bowl win over the Denver Broncos at MetLife Stadium in the NFL’s first cold-weather Super Bowl. Then, last season, also in the big game, Wilson threw an interception to New England Patriots rookie corner Malcolm Butler to end the game.

Like Newton, Wilson is one of the best young quarterbacks in the NFL. Their stock is only going to grow in the years to come.
