According to multiple reports, the Kansas City Chiefs are expected to make running back Shady McCoy inactive for Super Bowl LIV. This means, the Chiefs will go into the biggest game of the year with two running backs.
Damien Williams would be the key back on their offensive attack. Darwin Thompson is expected to be Williams’ backup.
With McCoy in Street clothes for the game, Kansas City can use the roster spot for an area of depth. It could be used for the defensive line, or another position.
McCoy signed a one-year deal with the Chiefs after being released by the Buffalo Bills. He was paid $3 million by the franchise to be reunited with his former coach Andy Reid.
He appeared in 13 games with the Chiefs, including nine starts during the regular season. McCoy had 101 carries for 465 yards and four touchdowns.
McCoy was only used during the Chiefs game with the Houston Texans on January 12th. He only had one offensive snap and did not have a carry on that snap.
