On the final lap of the 2020 Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway, there was a horrific crash. This crash was worse than the others that happened during the event in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Denny Hamlin may have won the race. But all of the concern was with another driver.
Ryan Newman lost control of his ride after leading the event. He then slammed into the wall.
His wild ride was just beginning, as he got upside down and twisted. Another driver — which appeared to be Corey LaJoie — hit Newman on the driver side.
His car then came to a stop, and finished ninth. Newman’s ride stopped upside down.
The stock car also had a fire and gas leaking out. NASCAR safety officials put the fire out.
But, the concern then turned to Newman. He did not get out of his vehicle.
Safety officials stood by as others attempted to get him out of his ride. NASCAR on FOX just said he was transported to a local hospital.
But it doesn’t look good when they had to put up black tarps.
We will not release anymore until we receive an official notification from NASCAR on his condition.
