Rams center Brian Allen tests positive for the coronavirus

According to Fox Sports’ NFL Insider Jay Glazer, Los Angeles Rams offensive lineman Brian Allen has tested positive for the coronavirus. Glazer hinted earlier this week that he had major news, which he was going to announce on Wednesday night.

This is the first active NFL player, who has been diagnosed with the coronavirus. While Allen had the infectious virus, he has been cleared and no longer has it, as he is symptom free.

The Rams confirmed that Allen did indeed have the coronavirus. Sadly, as NFL teams have been quiet on the coronavirus front, there may be more players, who may have tested positive for it.

Now that an NFL player has tested positive for the coronavirus, it may change things, including their upcoming NFL Draft next week. All NFL teams will have a virtual draft next Thursday through Sunday, as they draft the Class of 2020.

While the coronavirus was spreading throughout the country, the league continued with its free agency on time. A lot of players have signed contracts with their respective teams, or new teams; however, a lot of them were not able to take physicals due to the infectious virus.

Many players — should they fail a physical due to the coronavirus — will become a free agent once again. That would then hamper their chances of getting a good deal, as teams have used up a lot of their free agent space.

The league has not announced if their regular season will be pushed back due to the virus. However, Dr. Anthony Fauci, who has been the face of President Donald Trump’s Committee to fight this virus, has said if there is sports this summer, there would be no fans.

The NFL’s 2020 season would normally begin in September. However, due to this deadly virus, that has claimed the lives of thousands of people worldwide, it may be pushed back, like other sports leagues, who have ben on hiatus for the last month.
