Torrence Racing Top Fuel Dragster employee Dom Lagana has returned home. Since August, he has been in the hospital.

The Nitro Ninja Top Fuel Dragster pilot was severely injured in an accident near Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis in Brownsburg, Indiana. He took the brunt of the injuries.

Richie Crampton and Jacob Sanders were with him at the time of the crash. Crampton and Sanders were released from the hospital in August.

Sanders was released from the hospital the day after the accident.

“103 days in the hospital since my accident on August 9th and I’m happy to say that I’m finally back home,” Lagana said in a Facebook post. “I had severely bad burns to my body which resulted in my lower legs getting amputated. This hasn’t been an easy journey but I am so lucky to have such an amazing support system around me. I am forever indebted to all the doctors, nurses, and therapists who saved my life.

“I’ll be continuing outpatient rehab and focused on working toward getting prosthetics. It’s a big life adjustment but I’m so grateful to still be here. Thank you again for everyone’s support and prayers, it means the world to my family and I. 🙏”

Lagana previously said that he would begin rehab. He released his first public statement regarding his accident at the end of October.

We knew back in September that he had his legs amputated when we received information during the Denso Spark Plus U.S. Nationals at Lucas Oil Raceway. However, we refused to report it since there was no public acknowledgment of the amputation until now by Lagana or his girlfriend Sara Matthias.

Lagana, Crampton, and Sanders took the Shitbox of Doom — the mastermind behind Crampton and Jonnie Lindberg — for a ride following Steve Torrence’s win on August 9th. The disaster happened a short time later.

He returns home just in time for the holidays. As he said in his post, he is thankful this Thanksgiving, which is on Thursday, to those who have saved his life.
