The Minnesota Vikings have re-signed veteran quarterback Sage Rosenfels.

The Vikings agreed to a one-year deal with Rosenfels. The team wanted to re-sign Rosenfels to mentor 2011 first round pick Christian Ponder.

He is expected to mentor Ponder for the sidelines, as he did last season.

Rosenfels signed with the Vikings on December 2nd. He was added by the Vikings just one day after they released Donovan McNabb.

He was with the Miami Dolphins for the majority of last season, before being released in late November. He did not appear in a game for the Dolphins.

He has appeared in 44 career games and has thrown for 4,156 yards. He also has thrown 30 touchdowns and 29 interceptions in his career.
