Orioles sign Dontrelle Willis to minor league deal

The Baltimore Orioles have signed free agent pitcher Dontrelle Willis.

Willis signed a minor league contract with the team. He was previously with the Philadelphia Phillies this spring, and struggled.

He allowed five runs in 2 2/3 innings while walking four in the spring. Last year, with the Cincinnati Reds, he had a 5.00 ERA in 75 2/3 innings.

He did hold left-handed batters to a .127 batting average.

He will complete for a spot in the Orioles bullpen. If he does not make the team out of spring training, he will be sent to the minors, as a starting pitcher.
