The Utah Jazz will be without Josh Howard for the rest of this season.

Howard will have season-ended surgery on his injured left knee. Howard had an MRP on his knee on Monday.

The MRI indicated swelling in his knee and a chip in the lateral femoral cartilage. He was informed that surgery is required to prevent further damage.

He joined the Jazz in December after the lockout ended. He averaged 8.7 points and 3.7 rebounds in 41 games this season.
