Padres CEO steps down, stays with the team as vice chairman

Jeff Moorad has resigned from his position with the San Diego Padres.

Moorad, who was the San Diego Padres CEO, has stepped down. He will be replaced by Tom Garfinkel on an interim basis.

Garfinkel is the team’s President and Chief Operating Officer. He will also add the title of CEO until a new CEO is named.

Moorad will stay with the team as a vice chairman. He will also oversee the development of a Fox affiliate in San Diego.
