Andrew Luck is just hours away from being selected No. 1 overall by the Indianapolis Colts.

The team confirmed on Tuesday that Luck will be the first overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft on Thursday night in New York City. The team informed Luck of their decision last week.

It has been widely speculated for months that the Colts would select Luck with the first overall pick. It will be the face of the franchise after the team released Peyton Manning in March.

When Luck’s name is called, it would mark the fourth straight year that a quarterback has been drafted with the first overall selection. This is the second longest streak in NFL history, with the longest coming from 2001 to 2005.
