Westmoreland has a second surgery on his brain

Ryan Westmoreland had a very risky surgery on Friday.

Westmoreland, a Boston Red Sox prospect, had surgery on his brain. The procedure was to fix a cavernous malformation of his brain.

He had the surgery at the Barrow Neurological Institute at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center. It is located in Phoenix, Arizona.

He first had a surgery in March 2010 to remove the malformation.
