The Cleveland Browns are expected to be sold to Tennessee business man Jimmy Haslam III within the next several weeks.

When that happens, Mike Holmgren is expected to be removed by the Browns as President of the organization. The sale is expected to be approved by the NFL in early August or early September.

Holmgren is expected to be replaced by former Philadelphia Eagles President Joe Banner. Banner is apart of Haslam’s purchasing group.

Holmgren has been apart of the Browns franchise for the past two seasons, and hired Pat Shurmur has the head coach prior to last season. But his tenure with the team has been much of a failure.

It started with keeping Eric Mangini has the head coach after he arrived. Then, he has mis-evaluated Colt McCoy, as an NFL starter. McCoy is expected to be the back up to rookie Brandon Weeden when the season starts.

Under Holmgren’s guidance, the Browns have a horrible 9-23 mark, which is just a .281 win percentage. Banner is very familiar with current Browns GM Tom Heckert, as they worked together in Philadelphia for many years.

Heckert is expected to keep his job once Haslam’s group takes over.
