The Dallas Cowboys will bring in a former Philadelphia Eagle for a workout.
In recent years, there haven’t been many players that have switched sides in this historic rivalry. But free agent Jamaal Jackson could be the next one.
He is expected to take a physical with the Cowboys, and should everything work out, likely sign with the team. It would likely be a one-year deal.
The Cowboys also expressed interest in Jeff Faine and Casey Wiegmann, but nothing happened. They also expected interest in re-signing Andre Gurode, but that won’t be the case now, as long as Jackson signs.
He was released by the Eagles in March after spending 8-years with the team. Two months later in May, he attended rookie mini-camp with the New York Giants, but only stayed for one day without signing a contract.
Jackson started 72 games during his tenure; however, has not seen much action since the 2009 season. He suffered an arm injury in 2010, and missed the entire 2011 season.
The 32-year-old was scheduled to work out with the New York Giants this past spring. However, he informed head coach Tom Coughlin that he was going to retire.
The Cowboys need a center after starter Phil Costa suffered a lower back strain last Friday. David Arkin will start in place of Costa at center at the Oakland Raiders.
