Last night, pitcher R.A. Dickey stated that he would like to stay with the New York Mets at an awards banquet.
Dickey also said that he likes be apart of the Mets. He also said that he understands the business side of the game and that GM Sandy Alderson is exploring all options right now.
Alderson will do what’s best for the team moving forward. Yet, the 38-year-old knuckle baller is interested in signing a multi-year contract with the Mets.
The Mets picked up his $5 million option for this season. If both sides cannot work out a deal, he could be used in a trade.
Last season, he was 20-6 with a 2.73 ERA in 233.2 innings. He made 33 starts, as well.
