The New England Patriots have released wide receiver Deion Branch.
Branch re-signed with the team in Week 3, before being released for the second time this year. He was among the Patriots final cuts at the end of the preseason, as well.
He had just nine catches for 80 yards in seven games. This could be the end of his NFL career, which he was apart of two Super Bowl championships.
He was also the Super Bowl MVP in 2004. In addition to Branch’s release, the team also released corner back Malcolm Williams in order to add corner back Aqib Talib and wide receiver Greg Salas.
He was listed on this week’s injury report with a hamstring injury. This injury could have led to his release.
