Smith has passed the concussion tests, but the team is still expected to start Colin Kaepernick this week. Kaepernick also started on Monday Night Football against the Chicago Bears.

He will be given first-team reps against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. Smith is expected to be the No. 2 quarterback on Sunday.

Head coach Jim Harbaugh was enamored with Kaepernick’s skill set on Monday night. He went as far to say that Kaepernick’s performance was an “A-plus-plus.”
