Nate McLouth has re-signed with the Baltimore Orioles.
McLouth signed a one-year deal with the team to man the left field position. He came to the Orioles last season after being released by the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Down the stretch, he was an important factor in their postseason run. He had a .268 batting average with 7 home runs and 18 RBI’s over 55 games.
He was the team’s lead off guy in the absence of Brian Roberts and Nick Markakis when they were injured.
He came into the Major Leagues with the Pirates in 2005 and three years later in 2008, he was named a National League All-Star and a Gold Glove winner. He also had 46 doubles that season, which was a National League best.
In his 8-year career, he has appeared in 820 major league games with a .248 batting average. He also has 88 home runs and 290 RBI’s.
