Tejada signs a minor league deal with the Royals

The Kansas City have signed free agent Miguel Tejada.

Tejada signed a minor league deal with a spring training invitation. He did not appear in the majors during the 2012 season.

He last played during the 2011 season with the San Francisco Giants. In that season, he had a .239 batting average in 343 plate appearances.

He will be able to compete for a job on the Royals Opening Day roster.
