Jazz guard Mo Williams to miss six weeks after having surgery on his thumb

The Utah Jazz will be without point guard Mo Williams for an extended period of time.

Williams has missed the last four games after injuring his thumb against the Miami hHeat on December 22nd. He is expected to miss at least six weeks following the surgery.

He will officially have the surgery on Friday, January 4th. He decided to have surgery after having a second MRI.

He has played in 24 games for the Jazz, and was averaging 12.9 points per game, before the injury. He was also averaging 6.7 assists and 2.0 rebounds.
