The Chicago Cubs have officially signed free agent pitcher Edwin Jackson.
The rumored deal has been in the works in recent days, and it is a four-year deal. He is expected to make $52 million over the lifespan of the deal.
He will be joining his eighth baseball team since coming into the majors in 2003. He made 31 starts last season with the Washington Nationals.
With the Nats, he went 10-11 with a 4.03 ERA. In his career, he is 70-71 with a 4.40 ERA.
He has previously played for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Tampa Bay Rays, Detroit Tigers, Arizona Diamondbacks, Chicago White Sox, and the St. Louis Cardinals. He has also pitched in two World Series, and won a world championship with the 2011 Cardinals.
