Tigers shutout Bulldogs in 2007 season opener

The No. 2 LSU Tigers defeated the Mississippi State Bulldogs. The Tigers won 45-0 over the Bulldogs at Davis Wade Stadium in Starkville, Mississippi.

With the win, the Tigers improved to 1-0 on the season. The Bulldogs fell to 0-1.

Tigers quarterback Matt Flynn went 12 of 19 for 128 yards. He had two touchdown passes.

Jacob Hester had 14 carries for 68 yards. Early Doucet had nine receptions for 78 yards and a touchdown.

Bulldogs quarterback Mike Henig went 11 of 28 for 120 yards. He also had six interceptions.

Boobie Dixon had 13 carries for 29 yards. Tony Burks had one reception for 45 yards.

The Tigers outscored the Bulldogs 28-0 at halftime. Flynn hit Doucet for an 11-yard touchdown reception. Flynn also hit Charles Scott for an 11-yard touchdown reception.

Ryan Perrilloux also hit Brandon LaFell for a 15-yard touchdown reception. Perrilloux also scored on a 3-yard rushing touchdown.

In the first half, the Tigers led 17-0. Keiland Williams scored two touchdowns. Both were one-yard rushing touchdowns.

Colt David also made a 27-yard field goal.
