By Anthony Caruso III | Publisher The Philadelphia Eagles have re-signed long-snapper Jon Dorenbos. He has received a five-year contract extension. He was set to become a free agent at the end of the season. Financial terms of the agreement were not known. “Jon has been a very good long snapper for us over the last year and a half,” Eagles general manager Tom Heckert said. “Good, consistent long snappers are hard to find and we wanted to shore up that position for the next several years.” Dorenbos signed with the Eagles on November 29th, 2006. The Eagles needed a long-snapper after Mike Bartrum suffered a career-ending neck injury. Before signing with the Eagles, he played two seasons with the Buffalo Bills and two seasons with the Tennessee Titans. He first played with the Bills during the 2003 and 2004 seasons. Then, he became the Titans’ long-snapper during the 2005 and 2006 seasons. With the Eagles, he has appeared in 22 games, including the playoffs. The Eagles locked up Dorenbos one day before their regular season finale against the Buffalo Bills.
