Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Derek Mason is upset with the team right now. He would like to sign a long-term deal.
However, the 35-year-old is not happy that the team is not willing to go to the bargaining table to talk about a long-term opportunity. He has had two straight 1,000 yard seasons.
During this time, he has had 183 receptions and 10 touchdowns. Mason has been a primary receiver for the Ravens signal-callers.

He could be a good foundation for either Joe Flacco, Troy Smith, or Kyle Boller, who will lead the team forward.
“Over the last 12 years, particularly the last four, I have been one of, if not the, most consistent wide receivers in the NFL,” Mason said on the jocklife.com Web site. “I just want to have a fair contract with a bit of security. If you were to watch me on film, there is no way anyone would be able to guess my age correctly.”
He will enter the final year of his contract in 2009. He has spent the last four seasons with the Ravens.
In 2008, he started all 16 games with the Ravens. He had 80 receptions for 1,037 yards and five touchdowns.

Mason has had 337 receptions for 3,947 yards and 15 touchdowns in 64 games with the Ravens. He started 63 of the games.
