The Temple Owls has named their second member of Steve Addazio’s coaching staff. Justin Frye was hired to be Temple’s offensive line coach.
Previously, Addazio hired Frank Piraino as Strength and Conditioning coach.
Frye and Addazio go way back. Frye was a player for Addazio at Indiana. Then, Frye worked with Addazio at Florida, as an assistant coach.
Frye served as the offensive line graduate assistant/assistant tight ends at Florida for two seasons.
Prior to moving to Florida, Frye was also an offensive line graduate assistant coach at Indiana. Frye played for Indiana, when Addazio was offensive coordinator, from 2002 to 2006.
He made 45 consecutive starts, an Indiana record, during his 4-year career.
“I have known Justin for the last nine years as both a player and a coach,” Addazio said. “As a four-year starter and team captain at Indiana University, he played all positions on the offensive line and was like having another coach in the meeting room and on the field. This came as no surprise, as Justin grew up in a coaching family; his dad was a high school head coach in Indiana.
“This gave Justin great insight, at a young age, as to what the important values are in football– be fundamentally sound, coach hard, and love your players.”
