The Tennessee Titans are not going to wait long to hire a new head coach. There was a staff meeting on Friday at the Titans complex, where front office executives informed the coaches that they intend to name a head coach within the coming days.
The Titans head coaching position became available when the Titans fired head coach Jeff Fisher on January 27th. But, before Fisher was fired, he signed all of his assistant coaches to new contracts. That made the front office mad at Fisher, and what might have been the deal breaker, in terms of Fisher being fired.
The Titans front office have said they will honor the new deals to the assistant coaches. Thus, meaning one of Fisher’s old assistant coaches, will be the new Titans head coach. That’s the feeling anyways.
Offensive Line Coach Mike Munchak is considered the leading candidate. Offensive Coordinator Mike Heimerdinger would have been the favorite if he wasn’t dealing with cancer and chemotherapy.
