Hoener has been hired by the Panthers to be their Tight End coach

The Carolina Panthers have hired another member of its coaching staff. The Panthers have signed away a former member of the San Francisco 49ers coaching staff.

Pete Hoener has been hired by the Panthers to be their tight ends coach. He was the 49ers tight end coach for the past 6 seasons. Hoener brings over 35 years of college and pro coaching experience to the Panthers.

Hoener was able to coach Vernon Davis and Delanie Walker during his tenure with the 49ers. They combined for 320 receptions for 3,934 yards and 31 touchdowns under Hoener’s guidance. He also helped Davis make the Pro Bowl in 2009.

Hoener has previously coached with the St. Louis Cardinals, Arizona Cardinals, and the Chicago Bears. He was prewviously the Bears offensive line coach, before going to the 49ers.
