Troy Murphy has decided where he’ll play the rest of this season.
Murphy has been courted by the Miami Heat, Boston Celtics, and the Orlando Magic since being released by the Golden State Warriors after taking the buyout. The free agent forward has decided to sign with the Boston Celtics.
Murphy has only played in 18 games this season, while averaging 3.6 points and 4.2 rebounds, all with the New Jersey Nets. And it gives the Celtics some added depth to their power forward/center position after the team traded away Kendrick Perkins last week.
It just so happens Perkins signs a contract extension with the Oklahoma City Thunder on the same day that the Celtics sign Murphy.
