The Detroit Pistons are about to have a new owner.
The Pistons have announced that California billionaire investor Tom Gores will be purchasing the team. Gores will be purchasing the struggling NBA team, who has struggled on the court and in the front office since previous owner Bill Davidson passed away.
The sale ends the drawn-out sale by longtime owner and Bill’s widow Karen Davidson. The tentative deal also includes The Palace of Auburn Hills and DTE Energy Music Theatre. The sale must be approved by the NBA.
The deal is expected to be finalized by June 30th.
