Hank Edwards, a wide receiver with the Tampa Bay Storm in the Arena Football League, recently took time to do a Q&A session with The Capital Sports Report. His interview is about his sports career and views.
TCSR: What has it been like being an Arena Football player?
HE: “I have developed such a passion for this game. It’s such a family-friendly game. I love the Arena Football game and the atmosphere around it.”
TCSR: Could you talk about learning from former Storm wide receiver Lawrence Samuels?
HE: “I played two years with Lawrence. He’s a great player, and I’ve learned so much from him. I learned the basics from him, but he also taught me to never give up. Anything can change in an instant in this game.”
TCSR: Does your play simulate his now that he’s done playing and you’re still playing?
HE: “Definitely. He was the type of guy that always wanted to make the younger guys better. He spent a lot of time off the field trying to make me better. It was always more about life than football with Lawrence. “
TCSR: Could you talk about the coaching change at the beginning of this season with Tim Marcum walking away and Dave Ewart taking the reigns?
HE: “Coach Ewart and Coach Marcum brought me into this league. They’ve seen something in me that other teams didn’t see. They gave me an opportunity, and that’s all a guy like me needs to shine.”
