Gortat to wear a splint on his broken thumb to continue to play

Marcin Gortat is not expected to play for the Phoenix Suns tonight.

He has a broken thumb. His non-displaced fracture is expected to take 2-3 weeks to heal.

He suffered the injury in Tuesday nights preseason loss. He is expected to wear a splint in Monday’s season opener.

“I’m going to fit for my spot,” said Gortat. “As long as I’m walking and seeing everything in front of me, I’m going to (be) ready to play. I’ll be ready for Monday night’s game.”
