The New Orleans Hornets have only seen their prized off-season acquisition play in one game. Eric Gordon, who was the top player acquired in the Chris Paul trade, played in the season opener.
He missed Wednesday night’s game and is out for Friday’s game against the Phoenix Suns. Gordon has been dealing with a swollen knee.
Marco Belinelli is expected to start at the shooting guard position on Friday.

After being acquired by the Hornets, Gordon scored 20 points in his season-opener against the Suns. He also had four rebounds, three assists, one steal, and one block in nearly 40 minutes.
At this time, it is not clear how long Gordon could be sidelined. The team could take this injury day-to-day as they gather more information on when he could return.
Gordon was acquired by the Hornets on December 14th, 2011. Also included in the package were Al-Farouq Aminu, Chris Kaman, and a 2012 first-round draft pick.
The Clippers acquired former All-Star Chris Paul. They also received $350,000 in cash, and a 2015 second-round draft pick.

Bellini has played in two games for the Hornets since the season began. He had 10 points in a little more than 30 minutes in a win over the Suns.
Last night, he had 13 points in nearly 35 minutes against the Boston Celtics.
