Rosenfels has been informed by the team that they want him back for the 2012 season. The impending free agent would mentor Christian Ponder, who is the starter.

Rosenfels would also mentor Job Webb, who started several games last season when Brett Favre and Tavarias Taylor was injured. He is the wild car in the equation.

Rosenfels, who was claimed off waivers from the Miami Dolphins, would be holding a clipboard while mentoring the quarterbacks. He spent the 20009 season in Minnesota.
