Derek Mason has announced his retirement from the NFL. The wide receiver spent more than a decade in the league.
In his playing career, he played for the Tennessee Oilers before they became the Tennessee Titans. He also played for the Baltimore Ravens, New York Jets, and the Houston Texans.
The majority of his career was spent for the Titans organization, where he played eight seasons.

“I’m done,” he said. “I won’t be playing football. I only knew one way to play football, going all-out and having fun out there.”
Mason was a fourth-round draft pick by the Oilers in the 1997 NFL Draft. He appeared in 230 games in his career.
He started 169 games in 15 seasons. Mason had 943 receptions for 12,061 yards and 66 touchdowns.
Mason also had nine carries for three yards in his career.

The best game of his career came on January 6th, 2002. Mason had a career-high nine receptions for 186 yards and two touchdowns in a loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.
Mason was a two-time Pro Bowler in his career. Also, once he was an All-Pro selection.
