The Green Bay Packers do not need any distractions going into their game with the New York Giants.
But the team has to deal with the death of offensive coordinator’s Joe Philbin’s son Michael. He was discovered and identified in Oshkosh, Wisconsin’s Fox River after a police search.
It is believed that Philbin fell through the icy water early on Sunday. His body was recovered in 15 feet of water and 30 yards from shore at 4 pm on Monday.
His friends filed a missing person’s report Sunday night after he could not be found throughout the day. Joe Philbin, who is in his fifth year as the offensive coordinator, is away from the team to deal with this family emergency.
