Penn State Nittany Lions legendary football coach Joe Paterno is still alive. However, his condition has reportedly taken a turn for the worse. ‘
Reports suggest that Paterno is in serious condition.

There have been some publications — which we are not one of them — that have falsely reported that he had passed away. This includes CBS Sports and the Penn State Nittany Lions student newspaper.

His son, Jay, says that Paterno is still alive.
“Drove by students at the Joe statue,” he said. “Just told my Dad about all the love & support–inspiring him.”
There was a candlelight vigil held by the Paterno statue outside of Beaver Stadium. The same statue that the school previously wanted to take down.
More than 200 people gathered at the statue. It was a somber mood, as some held candles in tribute.
Paterno led the team during the 2011 season before being fired. He went 8-1 during the nine games that he coached.
Then, after being dismissed, Tom Bradley took over for the final four games. He went 1-3 in those games, including a loss in the Ticket City Bowl.

Paterno took over as head coach of the Nittany Lions before the 1966 season. Then, he led the team for decades before being dismissed for the Jerry Sandusky allegations.
Before Paterno took over, Rip Engle was the team’s head coach. Paterno is the team’s longest-tenured coach. Joe Bedenk, Bob Higgins, Hugo Bezdek, Dick Harlow, Bill Hollenback, Jack Hollenback, Tom Fennell, Daniel Reed, Pop Golden, Sam Boyle, and Samuel Newton also led the team.
