Paul Pierce is now the No. 2 scorer in Boston Celtics history.
Piece passed Larry Bird to become the Celtics No. 2 all-time leading scorer on Tuesday night. He needed nine points to tie Bird’s 21,791 points and passed him with a three-pointer in the third quarter.
Pierce finished with 15 points in the game. But he needs 2,000 more points in order to pass John Havlicek, who has 23,695 points.
He could pass Havlicek if he stays with the Celtics for the rest of his career. But he’s been linked to numerous trade rumors in recent weeks.
