Brook Lopez could be shut down for the rest of the season.
Lopez, who is dealing with a foot/ankle injury, has been listed as out for the next three weeks after getting hurt on Sunday. However, New Jersey Nets GM Billy King has admitted that Lopez could be done for this season.
“But at three weeks, if he still have a little soreness in the ankle, we’re going to hold him out,” King said. “Because my main concern is about Brook Lopez, going forward at 23 years old. We want him as healthy as possible.”
If he does return after three weeks, the Nets will only have 15 games remaining in the season. It would be best not to risk further injury, or a potential new injury.
Lopez has been affected by a severe sprain and a broken bone in his right foot/ankle this season. He has only played in 5 games this year.
In those 5 games, he is averaging 19.2 points and 3.6 rebounds.
