The Chicago Bears have acquired wide receiver Brandon Marshall. In exchange, the Miami Dolphins have received two third-round draft picks.
This move by new Bears General Manager Phil Emery was the first transaction he has made since taking over the job. One third-round draft pick will be paid this year, and next year, the second third-round draft pick will go to the Dolphins.

The Dolphins are in a tough spot right now. However, they could add a top receiver in free agency or the upcoming draft to help with this issue.

Miami has Brian Hartline, Davone Bess, and Clyde Gates as its top three receivers remaining on the roster.
The Bears have a true wide receiver for the first time since the 1960’s. In addition, Marshall is reunited with Bears starting quarterback Jay Cutler, as the two used to play together in Denver.
This past season, Marshall had 81 receptions. He had 1,214 receiving yards and six touchdowns.
Marshall has had 1,000 receiving yards for the past five seasons. He has had 1,000 receiving yards each year since his rookie campaign in 2006 with the Denver Broncos when he had just 309 yards in 15 games.

The 1,214 receiving yards were the third-most in his career thus far. He had 1,265 receiving yards during the 2008 season. He had a career-high 1,325 receiving yards during the 2007 season.
The six receiving touchdowns were the most since the 2009 season when he had 10 receiving touchdowns.
Marshall led the Dolphins with 1,214 receiving yards. Hartline was second with 549 yards, while Bess was the only other receiver, who surpassed 500 yards, as he had 537.
Gates had eight receiving yards.
