The Green Bay Packers were dealt a blow on the opening day of free agency.
While other teams were signing or trading for players, the Packers were informed that they will be without defensive end Mike Neal for the first four games of next season. He was suspended without pay for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy.
He is able to return to the team after the team’s fourth regular season game. In the mean time, he is able to participate in all the off season and preseason practices and games.
He played in seven games last season. In the Packers 2010 Super Bowl run, he appeared in two games.
