Mike Wallace wants big bucks.
The Pittsburgh Steelers restricted free agent is looking to become one of the highest paid wide receivers in the league. And he wants more money than Larry Fitzgerald got when he re-signed with the Arizona Cardinals.
Last August, Fitzgerald signed an eight-year, $120 million deal. No team would be willing to sign him if he continues to ask for high price tag.
Fitzgerald and Calvin Johnson deserve to be the top two highest paid wide receivers in the game. Johnson’s deal a few days ago surpassed Fitzgerald’s deal, making him the higest paid wide receiver in the game today.
The San Francisco 49ers were interested in signing Wallace to an offer sheet. However, they balked at the idea after hearing Wallace’s asking price.
There is a chance that he could still leave Pittsburgh, but only if his asking price comes way down.
