Raptors to lose Bayless for the rest of the season with a torn oblique muscle

 

Jerryd Bayless will miss the final month of the NBA season.

He will miss the rest of the season with a partially torn left oblique muscle. He occured this injury on Monday night against the Orlando Magic in the second quarter. He did not return to the game.

He was out the two previous games before Monday night’s game. He missed those games with a hip pointer.

Earlier this month from March 11th to 17th, he started five straight games. In that time, he averaged 21.8 points and 7.6 assists.

He has appeared in 31 games this season and has averaged a career-high in points. He in averaging 11.4 points and 3.8 assists.

Bayless is in his first full season with the Raptors after being acquired from the New Orleans Hornets. He was acquired in November 2010 in a five-player deal.
