Hollis Thompson has decided to enter the NBA draft.
Thompson will forgo his senior year to stay within the draft. Being that its his second year declaring for the draft, he must stay in the draft this time around.
He declared for the draft last year, but protected his eligibility by returning to school. He is expected to hire an agent in the coming weeks.
Georgetown head coach John Thompson III expected Thompson to enter the NBA drafter after the season.
“He is an extremely hard worker and we wish him the best as he takes his next step,” the coach said in a statement.
He had 23 points in a 66-63 loss to North Carolina State in the NCAA Tournament, his final collegiate game.
He started all 33 games this season for the Hoyas. He averaged 12.8 points and 5.5 rebounds.
He was the second underclassmen to enter the NBA draft in the past 24 hours. The other was Hawaii’s Josten Thomas.
