Tony Mitchell has left the Alabama men’s basketball team.
He left the team after his junior season. He was suspended when his junior season ended.
Anthony Grant, the Crimson Tide head coach, released Mitchell and Charles Hankerson Jr. from their scholarships.
“We’re appreciative of the contributions they’ve made to our program and we wish them nothing but the absolute best as they pursue the next chapter of their lives and careers,” Grant said.
Mitchell did not play in the final 11 games of the Tide’s season, which included the NCAA tournament. Grant said Mitchell’s suspension was a accumulation of things and not one incident.
