New Kansas State men’s basketball coach Bruce Weber has thanked the Illinois fans.

He took out a full-page ad in the Champaign News Gazette, which appeared in Sunday’s paper, to thank the fans for their support. This was a classy move by Weber, even after his firing from the school last month.

Weber left Illinois after 9-years at the school. He had a 210-101 overall record with the Illini.

In the ad, it read, “Thanks to everyone in the Illini Nation for a memorable nine years.” It also had a basketball with both the Illinois and Kansas State logos and said, “Go Illini! & Go Cats! Coach Bruce Weber.”
