On Monday, the Chicago Bears will start their off-season workout program. Every indication is that disgruntled running back Matt Forte will miss the program.
Forte has said that he will miss voluntary workouts and the start of training camp without a new long-term deal.

“The word is that he’s (Matt Forte) not going to be [there], but that’s just rumors,” said quarterback Jay Cutler. “I know it’s going to be hard for Matt to not be there. I think he’s pretty disappointed at how things have gone.
“But it’s a business for both sides. The Bears have to do what’s best for them in the long run. Matt has to do what’s best for him in the long run.”
At press time, it’s not clear how much Forte is seeking in a new contract. He will likely seek job security in a new multi-year agreement.
Right now, we do not know how close or far away the sides are on a new agreement.
