Metta World Peace has been suspended for the next seven games.
The NBA announced the suspension to the Los Angeles Lakers small forward on Tuesday, which is without pay. Metta World Peace threw a violent elbow to the head of Oklahoma City Thunder’s James Harden on Sunday.
It only took the NBA two days to rule on World Peace’s actions. Harden suffered a concussion on the play and has not been cleared to play.
“We remain committed to taking necessary measures to protect the safety of NBA players, including the imposition of appropriate penalties for players with a history of on-court altercations,” said NBA Commissioner David Stern.
