The New York Jets are not going to sign free agent wide receiver Braylon Edwards.

There was some speculation this off-season that he would sign with his former team. However, head coach Rex Ryan hinted last week that he will not be coming back.

The team will rely on unproven players such as Stephen Hill, Chaz Schillens, and Jeremy Kerley, who will all play second fiddle to Santonio Holmes. The Jets are apparently happy with those players to rule out signing Edwards.

Edwards hasn’t made any free agent visits since rehabbing a 2011 knee injury.
